Created by BBBS in 2006, the scholarship honors the work of film producer Lori Brener. He is a contributor to 'Advancing Philanthropy' magazine, and a blogger on 'Myths in Philanthropy' for AP Perspectives. The Private Key Club, in MiamiвЂ™s Wynwood neighborhood, was the set of this yearвЂ™s Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater MiamiвЂ™s party in celebration of the Lori Brener Scholarship Fund.

Rolando is a proven leader in strategic planning, board training, branding and public relations, as well as a skilled writer and speaker. HisВ expertise includes designing premier donor recognition programs, peer to peer fundraising and prestigious events leading to high-profile organizational branding. Rolando is committed to creating and recruiting powerful boards of directors and prominent fundraising support groups that are the basis for sustainable fundraising growth. Among his most recent projects is a $9 million capital campaign for the Friendship Circle of Miami, creating a national development office and launch of a $15 million national campaign for the Breakthrough Collaborative, based in San Francisco, California and creating an expanded statewide development program for Epilepsy Florida. I n 2016, Rolando led the creation of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami Foundation, where he helped recruit a prestigious Board of Directors, developed new grant programs and launched membership groups leading to consistent double-digit fundraising growth.

As the founder of theВ International Kids Fund, Rolando also led global fundraising programs that raised millions to provide life-saving care to seriously ill children from all over the world.ДЄs the founding Executive Director of theВ CatholicВ HealthВ Foundation, Rolando led the funding of new health programs for the Archdiocese of Miami, including Genesis, one of the nationвЂ™s first living facilities for people with AIDS.
